Mohamed Ali -United States of America- (1942-2016)
Born Cassius Marcellus Clay, better known as Mohamed Ali, was an American boxer who excelled in his sport and was crowned several times as the world champion. He also stands out for his political ideas and his fights for the cause of Blacks and to this end, he is close to Malcolm X. Converted to Islam, he also distinguished himself by his refusal to take part in the war in Vietnam. With 56 victories out of 61 battles, as well as his struggle for equality for Black Americans, Muhammad Ali was elected in 1999 by the BBC: sports personality of the XXth century. He died on 3 June 2016 due to respiratory problems.
