Battling Siki -Senegal- (1897-1925)

Battling Siki, whose real name is Louis Mbarick Amadou Fall, is one of the most famous boxers in the early 20th century. Born in Saint-Louis of Senegal in 1897, he arrives in France as a teenager and soon starts boxing and becoming excellent boxer. Enrolled as soldier in the French army, Battling Siki distinguishes himself during the war and ends up being decorated with the War Cross. He reaches the pinnacle in September 1922, in front of 40,000 spectators, he fights and wins Georges Carpentier, the French boxing idol from whom he takes over the world title. He becomes world champion and moves to the United States in 1923 where he is assassinated in 1925 in New York.
