Amy Mbacké Thiam -Senegal- (1976)
Amy Mbacké Thiam, born on 10 November 1976, is a Senegalese athlete, practicing the 400 meters. Extremely gifted, she joined the senior international under the supervision of CIAD (Dakar International Athletics Centre). In 2001, she became the first athlete from her country to win a gold medal over this distance. Three months later, she won the title of the Francophonie also in Canada, confirming her status as the new queen of distance.
