Sylvie Kinigi -Burundi – (1952)
Economist and politician, Sylvie Kinigi is Burundi’s Prime Minister from July 1993 to February 1994. After the death of President Melchior Ndadaye who was killed during a coup d’état in October 1993, Sylvie Kinigi was invited to form a interim government from 27 October 1993 to 5 February 1994, and became the first and to this date the only woman to hold these positions in her country.
