Martin Luther King -United States of America- (1929-1968)

After graduating in sociology and theology, Martin Luther King became a pastor. Gandhi’s work did not leave him indifferent, he took inspiration from it and became an adept of non-violence. In 1964, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, which he was the first person youngest laureate to receive. In his speech of 28 August 1963, « I have a dream », in front of 250,000 people, he calls for a country where all men would share the same rights in justice and peace. He was murdered by a white segregationist on April 4, 1968 in Memphis when he supported a garbage collector’s strike.
